Our lives are marked by compromise from a very early age. In fact, we are born compromised, carrying the seed of a sacred wound that has been passed down to us through our DNA at the moment of conception. On a human level, everything is subject to compromise because we are not born entirely whole. We are born with a question mark in our soul, and our entire life revolves around it. There are many interpretations of this question, such as 'what is my purpose?' or 'why do I feel uncomfortable?' and, of course, 'who am I?' These questions are not immediately apparent - they emerge over time, and even then, not for everyone. This sense of uncertainty is rooted in the Shadow of Compromise, which is an inherent part of our journey towards Competence.

The first thing to understand in the context of this Shadow is that compromise is the norm. It is a challenge, and it is given to us so that we can learn to transcend it and embody Competence. By embracing this challenge, we embark on a path of awakening - a journey from darkness to light, which ultimately leads us to the Gift of Competence and, beyond that, to the Siddhi of Generosity, as we break free from the limitations of Unbelief and walk the path of Competence.
